History: Ben Crighton’s motorsport career reflects the accepted pathway: karts, Formula Ford, and on into the premier open-wheeler motorsport category in New Zealand: Toyota Racing Series. His 11 year karting career began when he was just ten years old, and included three top New Zealand titles. He also represented New Zealand in the world Rotax finals in Malaysia. Moving to Formula Ford in 2003, Crighton took fourth overall at the following year’s New Zealand Grand Prix. A move to Toyota Racing Series mid-season in 2005 saw him score a tenth place in the Championship.
